Local Art Show: Dominique Montano

Join us for this free event and help support your local artists! Dominique Montano will have her art on display all weekend for you to enjoy. Art can be purchased directly from the artist at the Garden Center (cash/Venmo only please!) and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the artist. 

Artist Bio: "I am an educator and wildlife artist from Fort Collins, CO. I focus on watercolors, charcoals, and inks; utilizing bold lines inspired by a love for comic books blended with intricate colors of changing opacity, and animated with an educational background in animal locomotion that provides dynamic movement to each piece, amplified with drips and splatters. I take my inspiration from scientific literature, song lyrics, mythology and cultural tales. Highlighting the struggles nature faces, as well as the clash of the urban with the naturesque, I focus on bringing the importance of nature to each viewer, providing awe and a sobering reality of the disappearance of our natural world. As an artist, zoologist, and educator, I enjoy systems thinking and exploring how the smaller pieces of a system can work together to make up the whole, with many of my large-scale art pieces exploring these themes with color blocks and lots of contrast, typically with concepts of power being amplified from the smaller units that allow larger mechanics of movement and possibility. I want to inspire every viewer of the abilities of nature to awe and demand attention, and focus on nature’s effect within the world around us."
