Plant A Rose During Wedding Ceremony

Why wouldn’t a couple of horticulture geeks include plants in their wedding ceremony? It seemed completely normal that before the day was over, we would end up with a little dirt on our fancy clothes. Like we say around here, a little dirt never hurt!

If you’re getting married this season, consider planting something during your ceremony. We have a lot of customers who choose trees, shrubs, and even houseplants to pot up during their celebrations. Choose a gorgeous container, and make sure the plant is watered, but not dripping, for the ceremony.

All You Need Is:

  • A beautiful piece of pottery

  • A healthy plant, big enough for your guests to see

  • 2 hand shovels

  • Potting soil (put it in a container, rather than just splitting open a bag and making a mess)

  • Watering can

  • A great song to play in the background

That’s it! Truth is, our wedding day was a blur and I don’t remember what variety the rose was, but it’s beautiful and we get to enjoy it blooming each year.

If you want to include live plants in your ceremony, come talk to us! We even have a professional wedding designer on staff you can ask for advice.
