A few of our favorite perennials for Colorado:
Autumn Sedum Joy
This plant is as dependable as you can find. It blooms from August-November, with blooms changing from pink to copper. Prefers full sun and fertile soil. Looks great with ornamental grasses.
Goldstrum Black Eyed Susan
Grows 24" tall and spreads 18-24". Blooms from July-September in full sun. Prefers well-drained soil, and great for naturalized areas. Attracts butterflies and provides food for birds in winter.
Red Knee High Echinacea
Well-adapted to survive hot, windy conditions. Plant in full sun and expect blooms June-September. Average water needs, prefers fertile soil but will adapt. Grows 18-24 inches tall.

Butterfly Blue Pincushion
Pincushion grows in most conditions and tolerates drough, deer and part shade. Remove spent flowers to encourage more blooms. Compact, clump growth about 15'' tall.
Hidcote Lavender
Grows best in full sun, in well-drained soil. Blooms June-July and spreads 15-18 inches. Makes a great border or small hedge, and the fragrance is very inviting.
Salvia May Night
Rich, spiky flowers in early summer. Drought-tolerant once established, also good for heat and humidity. Plant in full sun, in fertile or amended clay soil. Remove spent blooms to encourage more flowers.

Corsican Violet
Grows 6-8" tall in partial shade. Blooms in early spring throughout the season. Prefers fertile soil, but can adapt to clay soil. Self-seeds, so don't deadhead spent blossoms.
Lupine "Gallery"
Gallery lupines are shorter than other varieties, but have larger flower spikes. Self-seeds, great for mass plantings. Plant in full sun or partial shade, in evenly moist conditions.
Agastache "Sunset"
Blooms in early summer-fall and attracts butterflies. Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Very drought-tolerant once established.
