We Love Local Art!Would you like to display your artwork at Bath? We'd love to host your talent! Contact Mundy Miller to sign up for a weekend in spring 2012.
Beginning October 7, each weekend we will display works from a local artist. The artwork will be displayed in our greenhouse, where you can sip coffee and explore some of the finer things in life - art and horticulture! Prints may be available through the artists. Thank you in advance to all the artists who have so kindly allowed us to display their creativity. Michelle Heronema February 24-26
Michelle uses photography to get up close and personal with her favorite subject: nature. She has long believed that a subject should be represented in true form, no manipulation or posing a shot. She finishes her photos with antique window frames.
Art in Bloom March 2-4
Art in Bloom is a popular exhibit in museums and art galleries across the nation. It's something you have to see to believe! We have invited several of Fort Collins' best floral designers and artists to participate. Each floral designer will find inspiration from a work of art, and recreate the essence of the work with a stunning floral design. There will be at least 10 floral designs on display. More information to come.
Live music on Saturday, March 3 from noon-3pm by David Michael Boyd. His moody, acoustic guitar is the perfect background for these beautiful works of art. See David's website to learn more. Diane Edwards March 9-11
Diane Edwards is a versatile artist who paints in oils, watercolor and pastels. She has a BS and MA in Art and Education. Diane owned an art supply/studio for 27 years, taught high school and college art and the last five years was director of the Art on Mountain Gallery in downtown Fort Collins. She teaches painting classes in her home studio that she recently finished in her walk out basement, adding a fireplace and seating area. She is married to Dale and has two married children and three grandchildren.
Diane paints the landscapes and terrain of the Midwest and West in pastel and oil. Her paintings are filled with the warmth of the flowing rivers, rocks and colorful geology of New Mexico, Colorado and North Dakota. She works to share her affinity with the landscape with the viewer, enabling them to enter into the warmth of color and the unusual qualities of light in our ever-changing landscapes. Amy Walton March 16-18
Amy has always considered herself an artist and the ability to create is a driving force in her life. The subjects that inspire her most often are found in nature. She is especially drawn to the beautiful western skies and landscapes of Colorado and Wyoming, as well as flowers, and most recently old barns. Her mission is to take these subjects and bring them into an expressionist state of being. The joy Amy gets from creating her art is equaled by knowing that someone else finds joy in it too. Her work is currently shown at The Fine Art and Frame Co. in Fort Collins.
Laura Perry March 23-25
Laura is a mixed-media artist who specializes in contemporary, thought-provoking collage paintings. Winged beings are a common theme in her work, intentionally. "Wings symbolize freedom, power and the ability to fly, soar and circumvent obstacles," said Laura.
This weekend is also the Fairy Garden Festival, and Laura will bring artwork related to the wonderful world of winged fairies. Bob Willis March 30-April 1
For the first twenty years of his life, Willis’s travels took him no further than four states away from his native Maryland.
Then, in his early twenties, his career turned to travel. He was selected to produce and host the Nation’s very first TV travel program. The travel bug bit and never let go. For the next decade, his journeys would keep him on the go almost constantly writing about and photographing different cultures and some of earths most exotic, beautiful, and fragile destinations. Willis believes that travel broadens perspective and can lend focus to one’s sense of direction and personal growth. Now, 40 years later, after a life-long career in the travel industry, Willis continues to use his keen eye to tell stories with his camera. Having developed a generous and gentle spirit, he is most at home while sharing his experiences and teaching others how to capture a moment through the lens of a camera. Vicki McCargar April 6-8
A watercolor artist, Vicki began painting and drawing as a child. She took a 45-year hiatus during which she pursued a career as a nurse, raised two wonderful sons and served as Alpha Female to several hard-headed Black Labrador Retrievers. Since rediscovering her muse, Vicki hasn’t been able to put the paint brush down and loves painting animals and anything from nature. Vicki will have original watercolor greeting cards for sale during her showing.
Gregory Mayse April 13-15
After being away from painting for nearly 30 years, Gregory Mayse is pleased to once again be working as an oil painter. 2011 was his first year returning to painting and his works were juried into national and regional fine art shows. He also earned "People's Choice" and "Honorable Mention" after entering his first fine art show. His originals are available at Trimble Court Artisans in Old Town. Gregory has spent most of his creative career behind the camera as a professional photographer. His portrait, wedding, wildlife and nature images have all received awards in local, regional and national competitions.
Chelsea Glanz June 8-10
Being born and raised on an organic farm in Fort Collins has inspired much of the playful and whimsical subject matter of Chelsea's work. The fictional fantasy-like images she illustrates in ink and watercolor invite the viewer to explore and imagine.
Chelsea hopes that her work inspires fresh thought, inquisition, makes people laugh, smile, question or ponder. She also hopes to promote visual art that is approachable, fun and invites a wide diversity of the public to engage in the arts, cultivating freedom and creativity. After earning a B.A in Fine Arts from Western State College, Chelsea moved back to Fort Collins and continues to work as a freelance artist and agriculturalist. Learn more at chelseaglanzart.com.
