Give Birds a Little Love
Winter is hard on birds. They search from sunrise to sunset for food and clean water. During the summer, birds feast on the abundance of seeds and insects, but during winter they struggle to keep their energy up. You can help! Learn more about wild birds
Winter Watering = Survival
Even though your trees and shrubs appear dormant, there's still a lot of activity going on under the ground, and they still need water to survive. Newly planted trees and shrubs (younger than three years) often need supplemental water to get through the winter. Protect your investment by watering trees at least once a month in the absence of significant snowfall. Water on a day when the temperature is above 40 degrees, and give trees a thorough soaking. Remember to unhook the hose when you're finished.
